Chalk Paint Colors

I try to set goals for myself every year, not really New Year's resolutions but just small goals.
So one of the goals I have for 2012 is transforming a lot of furniture that I find for cheap and possibly opening a little booth on the side. So I'm going to start some small projects and look into some booth space to just see what's available.
I'm looking for some new chalk paint colors to order and I need your help! I have Old White and Paris Grey and I've worked tons with both. Here are the other colors I'm pondering:
Louis Blue

Provence

Duck Egg Blue

French Linen

Coco
I want to get either French Linen or Coco. Is there a preference? And what about between Provence and Duck Egg Blue? Anybody used Louis Blue? Any other colors you would recommend or not? I would love to hear your comments!

Merry Christmas to all!

I will be spending Christmas in Tennessee with my family which I'm looking very forward to. My mama is a great cook and I can't wait for some of her vittles. I am so blessed this Christmas with good health, a home and a job, and the best family and friends anybody could ask for. I'm also blessed to be a part of this blog world which brings me inspiration daily and I'm so thankful for my followers....I love y'all!

I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday weekend!

Dragon Tattoo

I got surprised with a trip to the movies Tuesday night. :-)
What did I see?!? Duh!

It's getting mixed reviews by critics. There were some disturbing parts and it is not for the weak but i loved this movie....like a lot!
Rooney Mara=Amazing in this film. Total girl crush on her right now.

I kept meaning to read the books beforehand but it didn't happen so I will be marching myself to Barnes & noble to buy it asap so I can read them and then I want to watch the movie...Again! Am I getting my point across...go see the movie folks!

My Christmas Decor

I don't have many Christmas decorations. I've only owned my home for a few years now and I guess I haven't done a very good job at collecting things over time. Less is more....right?!?
I really only decorated my living area but I thought i would share anyway.

All of my ornaments are special. My girlfriends and I do an ornament exchange every year at Christmas so they have ALL been given to me over the past 6 years.

I'll post my outside decor later this week.

Dandy Lion

I found this darlin' little pair with my friend Ginny at a yard sale last year. I see these everywhere and they are super old-school....for sure my grandparents had some... but transformed right can be adorable. I think we paid $25 for the pair planning to paint them and sell. They have been in my garage since then and i wanted to try out a new color so the fun began.

I used 'Dandy Lion' from the Better Homes and Garden Line at Wal-Mart. I had been wanting to try this line of paint to see how I liked it. The color is lovely and the paint quality is 'ok'. I did not prime and it took about 5 coats. I lightly distressed after paint was dry.

It's been awhile since I've distressed furniture with any paint besides chalk paint but this paint sort of peeled when I would sand.
I finished off with one coat of Annie Sloan's clear wax. Then I decided that these little bits of sunshine might have a home right here in my living room.

Definitely keepers at least for now.

Pop of Blue!

I needed a small piece of furniture to go in my bathroom to fill a space and serve as some additional storage. I already had this small 3 drawer piece but I felt it could use some sprucing before going in the new bathroom.
I used some paint that I already had, you can find the formula on my previous 'Antique Armoire' post. It's an oil-based paint and even though it's a pain to clean up and it smells strong....i still love to use it once in awhile for the finish it provides. I used no primer and only used one coat of paint!

I love the piece and the color, but I can't decide if I love the color in that bathroom. Going to leave it for now and see if it grows on me.

Bathroom Completed!

Brown tile floor, brown tile walls, brown wallpaper = Too MUCH BROWN! To sum this bathroom up: the colors were all wrong, terrible layout, shower too small with no light
and a tiny glass door.

I still have a few minor touches to go. Stay tuned!

Wooden Sign

I found this at at a little flea market about a year ago. It's been serving the purpose of a fireplace cover so my kitty couldn't get in there but now that kitty is a big ole cat I decided I would do something with it.
I wanted to leave the letters white so I put on some sticky letters.  I painted Paris Gray over the entire thing and when it began to try I peeled off the letters. The gray bled into the white some so I'm going to go back and touch up my white and then do a coat of wax to darken it a little.

I'm thinking headboard? Maybe just hang on a wall? Suggestions??
